Season 14 of the Forza Masters!

Welcome to Season 14 of the "IFCA Trans Am Forza Masters" beginning Saturday, June 11th 7pm EST!

It is with great pleasure that we bring you another exciting season of Group 6/Group 12a Trans Am racing, matching the legends of the sport against the best new car technology available for production based racing. With a full season of racing as a benchmark the cars in this class have undergone a new and improved BoP that brings them all closer together based on the tracks being selected for Season 14. Cars that were a little too fast in Season 13 were detuned, and cars that were a little too slow were upgraded. In general, we put the muscle back into the muscle cars.

Of the 34 cars offered only 1 car remained the exact same as before. Of the 20 cars picked to return for this season, 15 underperforming cars were upgraded and 5 over performing cars were downgraded. Then we added an additional 12 new cars to round out the field.

The format is the same with one exception. We will be using a rolling start via pace lap rather than a standing start. The procedure is, you are not allowed to accelerate until your car crosses the start finish line. In this way the start of the race will be more orderly and cars quick off the line won't have an advantage.

New for this season is the Team Championship which is separate from the Driver's Championship. You don't have to be on a team to race, but if you want to team up for the fun and experience of racing as a team we will have a separate points table for teams based on combined average finish. It would be helpful to be part of a team and to get that experience as we are eyeing a return to our fun relay format in Season 15.

For those who don't know what the relay format is, it is a way to simulate driver exchanges by sharing the driving duties in longer races between 2 drivers. Basically, drivers take turns driving stints via relay race. It takes team management and good execution to maximize your success in our relay format. Communication is key at all times as you will only be in contact with your teammate during the race.

Another adjustment for Season 14 is with the driver skill rating between Silver and Gold. We are dropping Gold down to 1980.00 in an effort to capture or push more Silver drivers to the Gold level. Many of our top Silver drivers are really Gold level drivers and should have a greater chance of moving up to Gold than before.

So, come one come all, anyone can make an attempt to get into the opening round using any of the 34 cars. The only limitation is the grid itself. Only the top 24 drivers make it in to the race each round. The 103.25% bar is also still in place. Whatever car you end up starting the season with is your season car. The first round is at VIR South. Either post a time on the leaderboards or send a screen capture of your best lap to GTDon2 by every Friday 7pm EST.

Lastly, we are introducing a support race on the same day as the main event with Group 8 C/B-Class cars. Just 3 cars representing the 3 types of drivetrains will be offered. Group 8 is a first come first serve event. There will be no practice leaderboard and just a 3lap qualifier. Race distance will be half as long as the main event. Start time will be 3pm CST/4pm EST.

So get your teams together, pick a car, and drive as hard as you dare and as clean as you can!
