IFCA Production Hot Lap Challenge!

For those of you who don't always have the time to commit to IFCA league racing, this new event may be the thing for you. It is open to everyone.

The "IFCA Production Hot Lap Challenge" is just that, a hot lap challenge with certain limits imposed. It is a bi-fold contest with 2 tracks and 2 classes of cars each month. You'll get 2 weeks with each car and selected track. Your best times will then be added together and divided by 2 for your best combined average time. Lowest average lap wins the title.

BUT, there will be a vote at the end of each 2 week period to do a "replay teardown," or not. This means (if the competitors vote yes) that the unofficial winner will have to produce a replay lap that is to within 0.2sec of his posted lap time, and share the replay. Doing so verifies that he did indeed run a legal car at that pace. If he can not reproduce a legal lap, he will be DQ'd and the 2nd place person will then be awarded the title, provided that he can also reproduce his lap time to within 0.2sec in a replay. Unofficial winners will have 24hrs to submit their replay after the vote to do so. Any unofficial winner who produces a replay with an improved lap time, will get credit for improving his lap during a "replay teardown".

Instead, there will be an option for the runner-up to challenge the #1 driver to a 5lap no collisions sprint race to determine the actual Production Hot Lap Champion. The challenge, should it be issued, must then take place within 24hrs of the end of the 2 week session. The winner needs to save the replay and share it for legal verifications.

You can run your laps on Rivals (not the fastest way), or Free Play, or in Multiplayer with friends, and then send IFCA GTDon a pic of your best lap time so he can record the time to the official leaderboard below.

The car builds will be limited to no down force parts, stock tires and wheels, with widest tires, and no hp upgrades. You can add any other parts as long as it fits within the stated class. This means that you can even take a car from above the class and bring it down into the class using ballast too. Just as you can take a lower class car and build it up into the higher class.

Our first manufacturer will be Chevrolet, in C-Class @ Kayalami GP. Starting May 1st thru May 15th.

Use any Chevrolet you like, within C-Class, with no down force parts, stock tires and wheels, with widest tires, and no hp upgrades. And send your pic to IFCA GTDon.

IFCA Production Hot Lap Challenge! MO---2022-ENTRY-LIST

Same build as before, i.e., no down force parts, stock tires and wheels, with widest tires, and no hp upgrades, or engine swaps.

HLC-2 will be any Ferrari in S-Class built to the above specs @ Mid-Ohio, --since we can not cut the track anymore.

HLC-2 ends on midnight CST, May 30th. Whoever ends up in 2nd place will have the option to challenge the #1 driver to a 5lap no collision runoff race to determine the champion. Challenges have to happen within 24hrs of the last day of the Hot Lap Challenge. If the #1 driver refuses to accept the challenge he will forfeit his position, and the #2 driver will take his place which means that the #3 driver will then have the option to challenge the new #1 driver. A replay of the race must be shared by the winner for scrutiny by IFCA Race Directors for fairness and build compliance.

There isn't a "season" to this exactly. I mentioned it on Discord. It's just a way to make things more interesting. But please don't feel pressured to challenge me when I'm #1 at the end of the day tomorrow. I'll gladly take the win without having to race for it. lol

Okay, that was tough! Congrats to CoolStoryBro for really putting in some huge effort and almost taking GTDon down! Whew!

That was closer than I ever thought it was going to be. In fact, I really didn't think I had more than a 2:03.4 in the car, 4 days ago! I had to take the record back 5 times! Just goes to show you that real effort can pay.

But wait, it ain't over yet! Being the runner-up, CoolStoryBro gets to challenge GTDon to a 5lap no collisions run-off sprint race! If he beats GTDon, he then becomes the true HLC Champion! The challenge, if it is issued has to happen in the next 24hrs. A replay must be provided by the winner for the Race Directors to look at and scrutinize. Well done gents!
