Season 12 of the Forza Masters! 2431665192_952b5e0165_z

Welcome to the 12th season of the IFCA Trans Am Forza Masters!

This season our drivers have decided on which format and car to use via the vote.  It turns out a majority of our drivers are interested in a Spec-style format, in a late model car for a change.  The season begins Saturday, March 19th 7pm EST.

As most race fans know, true "Spec" racing doesn't mean untunable.  It just means each car is limited to the same parts.  Only in sim-racing can you achieve identically tuned cars in Spec racing.  But such a car as this is not as fair as some might suppose.  If you tend to drive stock untuned cars most of the time, you are going to have a less than fair advantage over those who don't is the problem.  So in the view of the IFCA having a more "true-Spec" tunable car as is done in real racing makes more sense.

As for the late model car itself, a dozen cars were offered that the IFCA felt were Trans-Am-like and at the same time seldom ever used by anyone in the past.  Many of these cars have never been included in past events because they don't easily compare in performance to other cars in their class.  The Saleen S7 is such a car, and the car most people wanted to race.  It's an American Exotic with a modular mid-engine Ford V8 from back in 2004, and though it is starting to show its age with its manual H-pattern shifter, it is a car of stellar performance even by today's standards.  And it has been one of those cars that is rarely raced against others in its class simply because it tends to be OP.

Our Spec version of the S7 allows you to add every race part except a race roll cage and limiting it to a stock 575 horsepower producing a maximum P.I. of S799.  Building it this way means that the S7 will be leaning more toward good handling rather than extreme speed.  Our thinking is that this is the better way to go for all levels of driver skill.

Because there is only one car to deal with this season, tuning it will not take as long which means you will have more time available to you to turn laps in it.  Once the car is dialed in, it will be in the number of quality laps you turn that you will see your biggest gains.  So don't become complacent or lazy just because you don't have to spend as much time tuning.  Use your extra time to hit the track(s).

For new drivers, we don't have a sign-up list, we have a put-up list.  If you want to race you'll have to put up a practice lap time at Bathurst on Rivals, or Free Play leaderboards, or send GTDon2 a pic of your best lap.  Each season is limited to a 24 driver field, once we go over the 24 driver limit the official cut line kicks in.  The cut line is set at 103.25% of the fastest time.  On average, this means that you will need to be within 3.50sec of the fastest practice lap to make the cut.

This season is going to amp-up the competitive spirit to a new level that the IFCA hasn't seen in recent years.  We caution everyone to maintain their sportsmanship nonetheless and have a good time.

Good luck!

BTW In order to hit 799, I had to add the racing flywheel to the motor. The only change that doesn't affect HP on the motor
