Bonus recruiting program!
It would make the racing much more fun for everyone if everyone (all of us) brought in just 1 new driver to the series. IF each of us were to bring in just 1 new driver we would double the grid and be entirely full! So, please, I beg you, bring in 1 new person even if only for the Monday night event.
To help, I'm going to offer a season bonus point to any Trans-Am team who can bring in a new person whether they race on Mondays or Saturdays. Bring in a new guy by Dec 14th and collect a free team bonus point!
Probably the best place to recruit new drivers is in the crash fest known as public lobbies. Go over there and watch for the guys who refuse to race dirty and that's the guy we want in our series! Invite him to try out the cars and to the IFCA. Some will, some won't, who cares, next, is the motto. It should only take a day or two for each team to get a new guy. Meaning, if you spectate the public lobby racing for an hour each day you should get more than 1 new driver.
Here is a list of teams who can and should collect the recruiting bonus point:

Re: IFCA Series News
Congrats to Team Penske for their strong recruiting efforts and leading by example! Even though there is only 1 bonus point on offer they managed to gain not 1, but 2 new teams!
I know it's hard work and you have to work your fingers to the bone to do this (lol), but this is why we need all hands on deck during our recruitment drives! One guy, or team can't do it all.
So please, get out there and make some new friends! Too many folks are trying to tell me that their friend's list is tapped out, but this is not where you should be going for new recruits. Of course your friend's list isn't fresh, mine isn't either, you have to go to the public lobbies and look for NEW contacts.

Crunch time!
A lot of interesting stories out there in the recruiting fields. I've heard things like, "Yeah, the IFCA runs a pretty good league." Some very fast guys have revealed, "I don't know, sounds too complicated, this relay thing, I'll just run the Monday night race instead." Others have often said, "I don't have a teammate so I don't think I'll run this season." And there has been the comment or two like this one, "Isn't it just a boring hot lapping format this relay thing?"
For all of you regular veterans of the Trans-Am Relay Challenge, you know better. The Trans-Am Relay Challenge format offers one of the most flexible, friendly and incentive filled racing formats in organized simulation racing anywhere. It is the only true team event in all of Forza where 2 drivers share the driving duties during the race.
As the veterans will tell you, the type of racing that results from this unique format is wide and varied within a single race. You have your public lobby-like sprint at the start, your more one on one endurance race in the early middle, then depending on pit strategy some hot lapping laps in the late middle, and then it comes full circle at the end when everyone starts to bunch up close to their competitor for a frantic mad dash to the finish! So, you get to sample a little bit of every kind of racing during one race. More importantly, is our no tolerance for contact approach to racing. When everyone races with the same attitude of respect, closer and cleaner and therefor funner racing is experienced over longer periods.
When you throw into the mix all the fun bonus point incentives for track lap record, fastest race lap, pole position, fastest practice laps, matching liveries, and recruitment bonus, there's a lot more to race for then just winning the race. On top of all of this is our goal to make the whole format fair and fun more for the slower drivers than the faster drivers by offering the slower drivers something they would never get in real racing, i.e., a Factory ride! Thanks to the IFCA Computer rating system we can correctly measure who is above average and who is below. This allows us to give the slower drivers that faster Factory ride that keeps their spirits up and helps them to stay closer to the pack while improving their skills. Only the IFCA offers this kind of competitive equality without placing a forced handicap on the cars which usually ruins the fun of driving the cars in the first place.
If you want people to get interested in our fun format, you have to share these highlighted details with them, and the best way to begin is to simply get them in the cars for a few laps first. Then you can explain some of the details as you go.
It is crunch time boys, and I know several of you have been spreading the word, but again, there is a vast untapped reserve of drivers out there in the public lobbies to say hello to. More teams mean more fun for everyone so do your best to recruit. All of us are depending on you to do your fair share to keep this going. Our first support race is already next Monday! at 8pm CST (9pm EST)
Qualifying for the main event on Saturday is crunch time too now. If you or a new guy is ready to qualify hop over to my party I'm on almost every evening.
After 6 wild seasons of some of the cleanest racing anywhere the series is just getting started.

Recruiting Kings!
Just wanted to send a shout out to all the recruiting kings out there who are trying to help the IFCA Relay Challenge continue into the new year. Big thanks to ChevyPower, Incognito, Creech and Sox, Rattlesnake, and Quantum to name a few.
The premise of this series is basic in principle as many of you now know. Rather than always changing the format or having a wide array of different events in hopes of being attractive to everyone as we have always done in the past, we decided to narrow our focus to just one genre of racing, Trans-Am.
We did this for several reasons. One reason was to try to think outside the box of being 'all things to all people' and realizing that exclusivity has a value all its own.
The IFCA has in the past been down the well-worn road of multiple series events just like every other league, and while they were fun, it didn't really do anything different to set us apart. Over time it started to become obvious that something important was missing from simulation series league racing. That same 'something' was not missing in real racing, however. The trick is to figure out what makes real racing so great.
What it came down to was creating and maintaining value in the racing itself through set standards, historic lap times, and repeatable competition. To do this correctly, you only need one form of racing, and to destroy this, you need to add multiple forms of racing that are ever-changing.
Look at any real league like F1, IRL, NASCAR, IMSA, NHRA, or Trans-Am, and what do you see? You see set standards of repeatable competition over time. The cars are balanced for equality after each season, the tracks are always the same, and the race format changes very little. In this way all things can be measured compared and improved both on a competitive level as well as marketing level. Fans can follow what's going on season to season because they understand the kind of racing it is and it's history. And it is history that plays a huge role in fan support and competition.
It is this history of racing that builds the value that makes many races so important, like the Indy 500, Le Mans 24hr, Daytona 24hr, Sebring 12hr, Monaco Grand Prix, Daytona 500, Dakar Rally, NHRA Nationals Indy, and so on. The point is these real racing organizations repeatedly race at the same tracks with the same format and relatively speaking the same types of cars year after year, decade after decade. I submit to all of you this is what has been missing in simulation Forza racing.
After years of thinking that with so many cars and classes and tracks to use, that the best thing would be to try to create every form of racing there is and place them under one roof, we are now steering away from this all too common and unsustainable strategy.
The IFCA has always innovatively lead the Forza league racing community going all the way back to Forza 1, and we are poised to do it again. Let all the other leagues constantly change their cars, tracks, and formats, the IFCA will concentrate on doing one thing but doing it very well.
We are the home of Forza Trans-Am racing. Our cars will be standardized and heavily tested, we will use the same group of cars and tracks using the same repeatably competitive format season after season. We will continue to try to emulate the successful features of the real world of racing with driver exchanges, no microphones, real-world points tables, and driver ratings/rankings.
With your continued help and support the IFCA Relay Challenge series will have a long life and become the standard by which other leagues and series are measured by.
Thanks,
GTDon2

Tonights Support Race
Reminder: Tonight is our first IFCA Trans-Am support race! This is a first come first serve event that starts at 9:00 pm EST. First 25 drivers who show up are in, so come early! Seating is very limited!
Track is Road America, 20laps with 2 discretionary pit stops and 1 mandatory pit at the end of lap 13. Race will be about 45min long.
1.) The primary purpose of our support race is to help balance the cars for future seasons. There are no season points or driver points. Each race is a one-off separate event that mirrors our main event on Saturdays. There will be 'Car Dominance Points' as a way to measure which cars need some adjustment for future seasons. This is a driver rated event.
2.) The secondary purpose for our support race is to allow drivers who can't race in the main event to enjoy driving our Trans-Am cars in a race. Many drivers have longed to be able to do this as a single driver. Some drivers have a schedule conflict with Saturday's race while others don't have a partner, so this is a fun opportunity for them to get some track time with some clean racers.
3.) The third purpose for our support race is to help new drivers understand our format and way of racing here at the IFCA. We have zero-tolerance for contact of any kind. We have the cleanest drivers in all of Forza as a result of the way we race and we wish to keep it that way. For us, a clean pass is worth more than a win. So please be careful and respectful to your fellow competitors.
4.) Our fourth and final reason for the support race is to socialize. We want people to get to know each other, especially those still looking for a partner to race in the main event on Saturdays.
Have fun this season, and good luck to you all!

Be warned about Xbox Live!!!
My communications were banned today until the 23rd for sending messages to people on my friend's list about tonights race. If you have a lot of friends and want to let them know when the next race is you better not send them the same exact message or the new Xbox Live spam filter will think you are spamming them and ban your account. This is a new feature of Xbox Live, so be warned.
I am able to race, but will be unable to talk. I will be able to talk with those who have my phone number during the race.

The Big Day is Here!
After weeks of preparation and practice Opening Day of Season 7 has finally arrived! It's great to see a whole new roster of new drivers and teams. We want to thank everyone who made an effort to help recruit more drivers to the IFCA Trans-Am Relay Challenge. We hope we can attract even more drivers for next season in Feb when we return to our updated original Trans-Am group of 60s-70s cars.
Just a couple of reminders for our new drivers, our style of driving values clean passing over winning by a lot. Our format is designed to naturally allow this to happen as well. There will be plenty of time and track room to properly gain positions in our relay format. This is not a 4 lap public lobby sprint race. This is a near 90min team race. No need to be careless or reckless going into the first turn of the first lap.
The other thing is we do have a solid penalty system in place and every race is reviewed. Any contact we see will be detailed and may result in issuing an official warning. Every warning counts as a strike against you, and you are only allowed 4 strikes per season before you are disqualified. Our penalty system is not designed to over penalize people, just the opposite, it is designed to help you stay in the series and help you race cleaner races at the same time.
So have fun, race clean, and enjoy the competition!

Continuing what was said above, we are at present in the process of updating the Season 8 build sheets for the 60s-70s original Trans-Am cars. Testing is complete. Just a matter of updating the documentation.
As for testing, our 60s-70s Trans-Am cars are the most thoroughly tested group of cars to date. In fact, they are the most tested cars in the history of the IFCA. They have undergone 3 revisions through 2 full seasons. It doesn't mean they are perfect yet, but they are getting closer.
Season 8 in Feb will be the first time we have used sport suspension on these cars. The sport suspension package seems to be the right balance between manageable handling and retaining the authentic original feel of the cars without making them feel too much like modern cars.
We've been moving towards a better handling package so they are easier to drive and in turn more fun to drive especially for our under 1950.000 rated drivers. They will still roll around and dive a little bit, just in a more controlled way.
We also didn't want to increase the need for extra tuning. We want to keep the cars easier to tune, test, and equally competitive. However, when it comes to our under 3.0L group we had to go all out for them to compete fairly. We didn't want to have a multi-class series as it was done in the real Trans-Am because we don't have the numbers to properly support it. Instead, we wanted to bring them up to the level of the muscle cars knowing that they would be quicker on short tracks but slower on long tracks. We also wanted to give everyone a huge selection of equal cars. We know some drivers prefer smaller lighter better handling cars to the bigger heavier muscle cars. By lumping all the cars into one competitive group everyone should be able to enjoy driving the kind of vintage car they like and be competitive over the course of a season at the same time. And by doing it this way, it makes selecting the car you want a real challenge which means we will see a wide range of opinions as to which car will be best for a season.
On a more personal note I've cleared out a lot of the "deadwood" on my friend's list and deleted a lot of guys who don't race, won't race, can't race, or won't participate in the IFCA for various reasons. Got rid of about 30 guys, so if it was one of you by mistake, just re-friend me. I just can't have all these guys on my list just because I raced with them one time. I only have room for active league drivers.
Any way, good luck to everyone at Lime Rock this week, should be scary. lol

If you take someone off your freinds list they do not know anymore I think. If people can add you to their friends list they do not automatically show up on your freinds list, you have to add them to your list or they are not there. I have people throw me on their friends list that I do not have on mine. I'm surprised by the number of people I've seen add me who have never been in a game with me before. I might be wrong but that has been my experience on the Xbone.

Season 8 Feb 15th
Yes its already time to preview our next season. Season 8 begins Saturday Feb 15th 7:00 EST.
The Trans-Am class we will be featuring are the 60s-70s original Trans-Am cars. Unlike in past seasons with these cars we will be going with a better handling package. Our thinking was to try to make all of the cars easier to drive, more equal in performance, and more fun to drive. At the same time we wanted to retain the older car feel and keep tuning to a minimum. The result has been to vastly improve the handling without removing the older character/feel of each car.
Every car has been reworked and tested and with the addition of the Australian Touring Cars for the first time, there are 52 cars to pick from!
Of the 7 tracks being raced, 2 are brand new never before contended.
The updated build sheets are in progress but every car build has been shared for both Factory and Privateer. The smart teams will begin to sample the cars early. This is going to be a very popular season with more than 12 teams attempting to get into the season.

Team Penske and Season 8
After 7 fun seasons and 2 IFCA Trans-Am Relay Championship titles, Team Penske is releasing FRB Incognito as a free agent heading into Season 8. Incognito has been an essential figure in the series and for Team Penske.
Due to his many other commitments and interests and a desire to see Team Penske continue to thrive and compete at the highest level, Incognito has decided to spread his talents around in other directions. It is entirely likely that he may form a new team and enter Season 8 still, but whatever he does we wish him all the best and thank him for his driving skill, dedication to Forza simulation racing, the IFCA, and Team Penske Racing.
As a result, Team Penske will be open to replacement tryouts. It is our hope to find a new driver who has the same level of commitment and integrity as FRB Incognito.
If you are interested in a try out please message me, Team Penske Racing Manager, GTDon2.

Season 8 Feb 15th car and track list
Finally, I have the build sheets up to date for Season 8's 60s-70s Trans-Am cars! 52 cars all re-worked and balanced better than ever! All builds are shared as well.
As most know we've been gradually moving towards better handling car builds. We've gone with less power, lighter cars, and a wider tire package. We've also added the Australian versions of the Trans-Am cars. Many of the smaller cars have full race suspensions for better equality with the larger cars. Cars in red text indicate full race suspension cars.

*As it was suggested in order to have a bit more time to prepare between events we are moving the support race from Mondays to Wednesday nights starting next week at Road Atlanta.

Rare opportunity
Hey everyone, some of the most exciting and fun racing I've ever had were times when I was teamed up with a vastly superior driver. By that I mean a pro-level driver.
These uber-fast guys knew I wasn't on their level but took me under their wing mainly because of my enthusiasm for the sport. They knew it would be a big thrill and honor to have them as a teammate, and they knew that even though I was and am just a little above average they still had some winning chances with me.
This happened to me twice in relay racing. Once with the #1 driver in all of Forza 1-2, IIxcamxII from Australia, and once with SP33D RAC3R 28x who was the #1 North American driver in Forza 3-4. Both times our teams actually won, but it wasn't easy thanks to my lower skill level. But in both cases, I was actually getting faster over the course of the season.
We had some super battles and narrow victories over teams who were faster from clubs like TRC, F4H, and VVV. It was just amazing fun with a giggle factor that was off the charts for me. It was awesome to watch my faster teammates really push and have to make up for my slow pace in a car that wasn't always the fastest.
I bring all this to your attention because there is a very fast driver who is a free agent for Season 8 and he wouldn't mind teaming up with an average driver. His name? Boost Syndicate. So if any of you might be changing teammates or are looking for one, I would snatch him up ASAP! This is a rare opportunity.
