IFCA Teams

Beginning March 25th @Spa we will implement the following IFCA Team regulations. Our aim is to generate greater league cohesion via teams.  The goal is to incorporate a greater number of interested drivers who represent IFCA teams to partake in the decision making process from this point forward.



The IFCA has dabbled with various team formats in the past but has never pursued an ongoing effort to support teams within the IFCA.  This is changing.  

The benefits of having teams are many.  There tends to be less contact on the track when there are teams.  Being part of a team helps everyone in the team reach a higher level of performance with tuning and driving.  As a team, strategic planning can play a larger role too.

To build off of these natural advantages, the IFCA is going to create a team points system for both the races and the teams reputations.  So, not only will individual team members have greater access to more season points than a non-team driver, their team will have a team grade or rating based on the teams participation and performance.

Each IFCA team is limited to 4 drivers but no less than 3. Every team begins with an A+ team rating.  Maintaining an A+ team rating grants you special privilege's such as early build access, early track access, and a place at the table.  The "table" is a short meeting with the Chairman of the Board toward the end of a season to discuss changes for the following season or seasons.  Every "A" rated IFCA team will have impact on the direction taken for the following seasons.  

We are at a point where we need to be more transparent and engaging with our members.  We can do this through the desires and wishes of our teams so that everyone feels they have some input as to what the direction of the IFCA will be.  Basically we want the teams to be more in partnership with the IFCA rather than in subordination.

So what's the catch to gain these privilege's?  Maintaining your team rating.  Drop to a B+ and you lose your seat at the table.  What can cause you to lose your A+ rating? Non-participation.  If a A+ rated team doesn't race, it results in a -1pt team rating deduction and they move down to an "A" rating.  If a team member is hit with an individual points penalty for contact during the race, the team is fined -1pt.  

Teams can regain lost reputation points in the following races they compete at.  For example,  Team Penske misses a race and falls to an "A" rating, but they make the next race and recover their "A+" rating, but, three of their drivers get penalized -1pt for contact, so then their team rating falls down to "B+" for the next race.  In the next race Team Penske gains +1pt for showing up, and only one of their drivers takes a points penalty for contact, this keeps Team Penske at a "B+". Team Penske can get back their "A" grade reputation in the next race if at least 3 drivers of their team race and no one gets penalized.  So, there is a progression and easy recovery of your teams reputation rating during a season or special events.

The team reputation rating scale:

A+
-1= A
-2= A-
-3= B+
-4= B
-5= B-
-6= C+
-7= C
-8= C-

For those of you not wanting to join a team, one will be provided for you.  Everyone has to be associated with a team.  You will not be assigned to an established team however.  You will be assigned to a team of others like yourself who have not formed a team. We have to enforce this because team members end up having too great a points advantage over a single racer.

Not only do team members collect more points, but they can really help you be a lot faster too.  For teams who don't want to have a slower driver on their team you need not worry because only your top 3 drivers are counted.  This means that a team is not penalized for having a slower driver as their 4th man.

Team Livery requirements:

Team livery requirements for established teams will be simplified to black hoods, ifca.forumotion.com URL on all 4 sides, and the name of the team on both sides of the car.  ANY number plates will do, but, you do have to have a number plate. 

Generic-team liveries (Teams Red, Blue, Green and Purple) can do whatever they like,  without black hoods, ifca.forumotion.com URL on all 4 sides, and can use any racing number plate.

Established teams or generic teams, both types, must use a similar livery to that of their fellow team drivers.  Similar designs are required, but different colors are allowed.

We've since decided that we will not allow anyone to race as a single driver in the future.  Everyone will have to be associated with a team.  If you are not on a team, don't want to ask to be on a team, or are simply shy, you will be appointed to a team.  

It would of course be better if you selected or created your own team, but if not, we will assign you to a team with others who are in the same predicament.  This does not mean you will be assigned to an established team.

Some have already asked about substitutions?  Answer; every team is allotted 1 substitution driver during a 7 race season.  No subs are allowed during none seasonal events like during "Spec Kings."  Every team must field at least 3 of their official drivers every race.

During a board meeting only the available leaders of each team need to be present.  That is, only 1 representative from each team needs to attend the closed door meeting.  During that meeting each team will have veto power.  That is, each team is allowed to veto 1 idea.  If they use their power of veto at the start of a new season, they will then have to wait an entire season before regaining their veto power.  And you may not use your veto for something that was already vetoed previously.

For now, this is the Official IFCA Team Roster list.  It doesn't mean it will stay this way.  It doesn't mean you are stuck where you are at either.  People change teams all the time.  Changing to another team roster is allowed before the start of any season.  No changes are allowed after the start or in the middle or at the end of a season.

This list is mostly for the benefit of the non-associated drivers, that is, drivers who were not on a team and didn't know what team they were assigned to.  If it turns out that you like your generic team and the guys we paired you with, and you start to work together as a team, you can then apply for an actual approved team name.

Love this, teams will to some extent now have say in the races,racing etc.

WC1 is looking to add a 4th driver, and to start a developmental team, with drivers that would like to race together. this second team would been an extension of WC! and would share in practice tuning race strategy and paint ideas. Anyone interested in either joining WC1 or interested in partnering with WC1 as a second team please contact me either through the forum or through Xbox.

we have changed a couple of the rosters on the generic teams due to driver availability so double check where you ended up.

WC1 motorsports and Tailwind Racing are teaming up. WC1 will be providing factory support to Tailwind Racing
in the IFCA Spec Kings challenge.

Below is our updated team roster.  It may yet change.  The cut off for roster changes is every Wed night by midnight.

If you are on one of the generic teams with a color name of Red Blue Green Orange or Purple, then your car should be the color of your team.  All you need to add is the IFCA URL on all 4 sides, and the # plate on all 4 sides.  Black hoods are not permitted for the generic teams.


TINTED WINDOWS ARE NOT PERMITTED

If you are on a regular IFCA team your livery design should match your teammates cars even if the colors are different.  That is, the layout of the design should be recognizably similar to each other.  You need a black hood, the IFCA URL on all 4 sides, your # plate on all 4 sides, and the name of the team on all 4 sides.

Livery non-compliance will go against the team as well as the individual driver.  This will effect the teams A+ rating.  Drop below an A rating and you lose your place at the table for the next IFCA meeting.  Currently, every team still has a A+ rating.  The next Official IFCA meeting will be Sunday April 2nd at 1:00pm EST.
