Yes, Eries has a wheel now, and is just now learning to cope with it. His lap times are improving rapidly however.

We dont use those ratings anymore, if we did I would too need to be plat max, luckily we all decided to go with the new ratings format, thanks to Chevy and all involved in changing it!

So here is my conversation with Don.
I dont want to be equal in times as I will improve over time.
Im happy running slower. The adjustment to wheel is more than just one switch.
1. Moving to wheel from no wheel, not partially casual switching.
2. Moving from Chasing to hood view
3. Moving from Sim steering to normal
4. Moving from controller tuning to total different feel and tune
I stated that we monitor and currently in Silver just crossed the less than 1s slower, thus I go Gold now. Not when I match him, but when I cross the 1s. In Gold I am 1.5s slower. I will stay here until I again cross the 1s.
If this happens before race then great, but I think I might end in Gold as Im now entering the grind part.
In Plat I am 2.5s off.
So I dont fully get the major issue here.
Last season only 3 people gave me a run for my money. Don, Chevy and Johno. Now as it stands more than half the field does. Id call that pretry fair.
So switch to wheel permamently Chevy, put your money where your mouth is, I dare you.
I actually am mega proud of myself being able to even remotely come close so quickly.
I do recall races where you went wheel, bit wasnt for a full season though, and then you actually ran similar times than Don in the same rating. If we use that logic, I would also need to match. I can go Bronze as I can almost match Don then, but I dont want to match him. We know how close the lb times get and being a full 1s off, doesnt remotely put you at the top.

This is how it would have broken down for points had this been the actual 1st round and not a secret practice race. In GTP, Team Strange took the win in their Nissan along with bonus for Pole and fastest Lap. Gulf Racing in their BMW came in 2nd, and Team Penske II also in the BMW was 3rd. Notice how the bonus points can sometimes upset the finishing order and total points.
Over in TA, Curve 1 E-Sport took the win with a mixed car team of Dodge and Chevy, along with best practice lap bonus, pole bonus, fastest lap bonus and clean driver bonus! There was a tie for 2nd between Team Penske and Warrior Racing, tie going to Team Penske with the faster average team lap.
There was also a points tie between ETL Racing vs Titans of Touge activating the tie break rule again, of whichever team has the fastest average lap wins, and that was ETL Racing. (This is relatively meaningless and common in the first round) What is something to take note of is how much the bonuses can play a part in your total points.
*The final race of every IFCA championship series is worth double points keep in mind too.
So there you have it, a snap shot of how it would have been. Instead, everyone gets another week to re-work their tunes, change cars, make their liveries legal, get back with your actual teammate if he was a no show etc. Because next week is the real deal! If anyone improved their lap times from this race it will be reflected on the Practice Leaderboard too. So good luck out there!

Race review
Amazing what a practice race can do! Everyone seemed to understand what is going on this time and it made for one of the smoothest hard fought races to date! Well done to all of our competitors, truly one of the most flawless relay races we've ever had! The only bad thing was that my replay did not save. If anyone has a replay saved please share it so we can have a look at what happened, especially at the start. I know there was some initial problem at the start, but after that everything went very well.
The GTP class winners were Team Penske II with Johnathon and Bullet in their BMW V12. Not because they finished 1 and 2, but because they collected more bonus points while finishing 3 and 4 behind the leaders of Gulf Racing's DanBTheMan107, who collected his first overall IFCA victory, and his teammate NaughtyDawgz, both in a Nissan GTP. 3rd on the podium went to SimLoaf Racing's IlsImlI and LoafofNuts59 also in a Nissan GTP.
This shows the importance of collecting every possible point as I have said countless times in the past. Bonuses for Fastest Lap, Pole, Fastest Practice Lap, and Clean Driver, can add up. You might win the race battle, but lose the season points war if you don't try your best all the time.
Over in the TA class Curve 1 E-Sport's C1 Munz (in a Dodge) won the race with teammate P1R Grecken (in a TA Corvette) in tow. Munz collected Fastest Practice Lap, Pole, and Fastest Race Lap, but neglected to gain the 0.25pt bonus for Clean Drivers. Still they retained the points lead by a wide margin. In 2nd place was the TA Corvettes of ETL Racing's XCHROMVAILSX72 and MarkHillsUK with a similar team composition as the winners with one fast guy and one not so fast guy finishing 3 and 4 respectively. Back in 3rd place was the all Dodge boys, Team Penske's GTDon and Eries, who are struggling as Eries makes the switch to the wheel. Still, they picked up all the bonuses that they could to finish on the podium.
So now that the honeymoon is over in terms of designated driver ratings, which dictates what build you are allowed to use, please take note of the pre/post ratings changes and rebuild your cars accordingly for Watkins Glen. The ratings changes are based on your finishing order and not your team order. This is a huge opportunity for many teams to make a big come back in the 2nd race as their opponents are pushed into the heavier cars, and they are given lighter cars to compete in. Over time this back and forth of competitive ratings helps to keep all of our skill levels as close in season points as possible for the whole season. In this way everyone can remain in contention all the way to the end. Great job everyone, and Good luck next week!

A quick correction, GTP had an error in points addition. Gulf Racing is actually tied with Team Penske II in points with 27pts each. But since Team Penske had the faster team average lap time, they are still awarded the win.
Gulf Racing did in fact physically finish with a 1 and 2 first place, but Team Penske II was able to tie their total points by collecting more bonus points.
