Finally the Forza Sports Car Series will make the trek to Indianapolis Motor Speedway Grand Prix Circuit! The legendary name of this city and track should be an indication to what to expect then it should be easy to know that Indianapolis is about speed and history! When your racecourse has been operating continuously for more than a century, it's invariably going to be something special. But Indianapolis Motor Speedway isn't just special, it's an irreplaceable part of the "Triple Crown" of motorsports, after Monaco and Le Mans. That puts it in prestigious company, and is a tribute to Indy's status as one of the most important American racing venues. Indy's nickname, "the Brickyard," comes from the original brick paving that is now preserved only in a one-yard strip that serves as the start-finish line. The rest of the bricks were ditched in 1961 for a much less bone-jarring asphalt surface, to the relief of drivers since. Other iconic sights remain: there's the new Pagoda, used for race control and timing, and a tribute to the wooden pagodas that stood at Indy for more than 40 years. Now it's time for the racers of the Forza Sports Car Series to etch their names in the history of this famed racetrack. From one high speed roaval in Arizona to another iconic track in Indiana it will be something to remember!

For the first time in its storied history the Forza Sports Car Series will race on the hollowed grounds of Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Located in Speedway, Indiana (an enclave suburb of Indianapolis) in the United States. When your racecourse has been operating continuously for more than a century, it's invariably going to be something special. But Indianapolis Motor Speedway isn't just special, it's irreplaceable. A modern infield road course was constructed between 1998 and 2000, incorporating the western and southern portions of the oval (including the southwest turn) to create a 2.605-mile (4.192 km) track. Indy's nickname, "the Brickyard," comes from the original brick paving that is now preserved only in a one-yard strip that serves as the start-finish line. The rest of the bricks were ditched in 1961 for a much less bone-jarring asphalt surface, to the relief of drivers since. Other iconic sights remain: there's the new Pagoda, used for race control and timing, and a tribute to the wooden pagodas that stood at Indy for more than 40 years. There's also the famed Gasoline Alley pit area. The question that will be answered is who will be the first victors to cross the line at one of the most historic tracks in the world.

I gotta admire how much work you are putting into your series - I wish i had more time to come check out your race but being in the thick of my semester I can't dedicate that much time to a circuit track. I hope the race goes good, i noticed you had some probationaries... Good luck man!

Yes, we enforce the rules of the series as required. As for your time and being able to compete. I understand, not everyone has the time slot to join and race. But those who do should definitely give it a shot.

Pred runs a great series at the FSCS, always close racing each week. Hopefully IFCA and the FSCS can help each other out over the 2013 season's.

Yeah it was close. Second by .022 over 3rd. If I run .300 slower I am in 7th! Now that is close.

Race Room Recap and Incident Report


A Room

GT Rolling Start was very nicely done. A good single file line and a clean start.
GTC Rolling Start was good. Good single file no one jumped the start

Great racing with no contact at all for nearly the whole first half of the race. Considering how close the racing was this speaks to the level of drivers in the field.

Late in the race with positions on the line there were a few racers who got a little aggressive with one another. There was no egregious mistake made by any one driver. There will be no penalties issued due to the fact that all three racers mentioned below all participated in the aggressive driving the last few laps of the race.

Warning issued to Boostbeef{R} in the #71 Viper GTS, METAL C6R in the #65 Chevrolet Corvette Racing ZR1 & SSRT Pronebird in the #74 Viper GTS.

B Room

Lap 4 - Minor contact in turn 1 between TheManNowDog777 in the #57 Pontiac G8 GXP & hannibaljazz 98 {R} in the #98 Porsche Caymen R. The two tried to go into turn 1 side by side and created minor contact. No Penalty issued.

Lap 5 - Lag Spike causes Warpig2011's #53 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 to have a major incident with GLR Roca's #122 Porsche 911 Sport Classic (997). Both cars receive major damage that takes them out of the race.

Results are up for Indianapolis Grand Prix.
