Re: What Season 10 Format would you like?
Just to clarify, the 4th choice means we would pick 1 car built identically for everyone to use from our current Trans Am Vintage class. And there would be a Bronze build with this format.
The 5th pick is with Grand Prix open wheel cars. This means 1960s F1. We would pick 1 car built identically for everyone to use and there would be a Bronze build.

How about a combined event. a two man relay, 1 silver and 1 bronze driver. Using the
Trans Am doubleheader format, a late-model and vintage car. Teams can choose what driver is in what car and what car is going 1st. Possibly having the late-model and vintage cars on the track a same time.

I really like the idea, and it certainly is doable. But like any proposed format, you have to work out the exact details, then do some test races, and then you'll be ready for an unofficial race. If all goes well and the format does what it was intended, we'd either have a vote or slate it for an interim race. If people like it, then it can become a regular official-rated event.
So while the concept is simple enough, hammering out the details is a little more complex.

Re: What Season 10 Format would you like?
Let me slip a proper timeline into this. Season 10 will be divided up into non-consecutive weeks due to Christmas and New Year's falling on Saturday. So it will look like this:
Rnd 1 Dec 11th
Rnd 2 Dec 18th
Christmas weekend Dec 25th
New Year's weekend Jan 1st
Rnd 3 Jan 8th
Rnd 4 Jan 15th
Rnd 5 Jan 22nd
This gives us 2 weeks to gather up some new drivers before Season 10 begins. We need this time for recruitment so the grid fills out. Seeing how the vote has gone it's fairly obvious that as a group we want to stay the course and continue to develop our Trans Am format. If you haven't read my overview of the future go here:
https://ifca.forumotion.com/t6535p575-ifca-series-news#138884
Along with this, there will be an adjustment for the ratings between Bronze and Silver for Season 10. Not only this, I will be condensing the Big Board and deleting the inactive drivers in preparation for when Forza 8 comes along.
My view is that the more we refine our Trans Am format and the more we establish standards, the more we become experts at it. What this gives us is a pattern of success that translates into competitive fun for everyone. Human nature is, that you only play things that you experience success with or it's not fun. The point being is, if it isn't fun, which is measured by the amount of success you experience, you will not do it for very long.
So this is our goal, to provide a format that offers everyone some success vs only offering the fastest driver's success. As Trans Am specialists you will continue to improve. What I've found so far is that our best drivers are approaching parity with the skill level of alien drivers. Meaning that, if I take an alien-level driver and throw him in a random Trans Am car for 4laps, he will only be slightly faster than our fastest drivers. This means that our best drivers are starting to get as much out of the cars as can be gotten. In so doing it means that the level of expertise is becoming more about avoiding mistakes than going fast. Many drivers can hit a hot lap, but not many can do it flawlessly lap after lap and this is becoming the difference between a podium finish, and not.

The transitional rating list for Forza 8 is posted but doesn't go into full effect until after the Road America race this Saturday. By deleting the inactive we start with a clean slate and can clearly see the pecking order of the active drivers and their relative skill as we move closer toward FM8.
the new list is here:
