Season 8
Hello IFCA alumni, that's right, we are preparing for Season 8 already! We are always about a season out to prepare for the following season is why. I know most of you here understand that a lot of care and development goes into an official IFCA season. We do this so that you the competitor can have an exciting, fair, and fun time racing. We also do it so that things are well organized and as seamless as possible.
We are currently in the testing phase and our direction is towards late-model Trans-Am cars this time. We will know more in a couple of weeks. In the meantime enjoy a lap around my home track here in Minnesota, BIR (Brainerd International Raceway) [formerly "Donnybrooke" back in the day]. It is one of the few real tracks not in any sim.

Update
Take a minute to read the latest update on Season 8 here:
https://ifca.forumotion.com/t6739-season-8-of-the-forza-masters
To make things a little more tricky and promote a diverse grid, we are going to offer a manufacturer points incentive for the first time ever. Pick a popular MOPAR product for example, and you will have to give up -.2 points per race or a total of 1 whole point on the season. Pick a less popular car like the Alfa or VW and you will gain +.75 points each round or a total of 3 points on the season. This is a maximum points swing of 4 between the two. If you pick a Pontiac or Ford product no fractional points are given or taken in comparison. This should give everyone pause to strategize and cleverly calculate what car might produce the best season points results for them.
The scale looks like this:
Tracks for Season 8 are as follows:
Sept 11th
Mugello short
Sept 18th
Lime Rock
Sept 25th
Sebring
Oct 2nd
Hockenheim GP
Oct 9th
Road Atlanta

Re: Season 8
Yes, both races will be like two separate mini-races with their own track lap records, practice laps, and bonuses. The only connection between the two classes is the combined finishing order that is averaged for season points totals.
It's slightly more work on my part but because each round is at the same track for both classes it's not too difficult to keep track of. Should be good fun and interesting to see how drivers differ from one class to the other.

The question was asked, what happens if a driver only races 1 of the two 30min races of the double header? It would be the same as taking last place in the race that wasn't raced. So, let's say there were 20 drivers and you won the first race but for some reason didn't race in the second race because you disconnected, didn't like the cars, didn't have the time etc., you would get credit for the 1st place win and the last place no show, or 20th. Combined, this means you would get 10.5 place points as your average finishing order.

Late model spec sheet
These are the 10 late model cars we are using for the Season 8 doubleheader beginning Sept 11th @ Mugello Short. Unlike the original Trans-Am cars which have no Bronze builds, the late model cars do have a Bronze build. The difference between Silver and Bronze for these cars is the Bronze cars get 1 upgrade tire compound and lightest wheels. Everything else about the build is exactly the same as the Silver builds. These are Spec cars with specific builds you must use. See below.

Winner requirement
A new rule to the series to help challenge the fast guys. If you win the series and earn the title of IFCA Forza Master and return to defend your title, you must use 2 new different cars. That is, you will not be allowed to use the same two cars you used to win with.

Re: Season 8
I'm a little confused by this wouldn't that be a advantage to the champ as in what works for limerock isn't going to work at seb. So you could use the vw at limerock then something with spd at Sebring seems like a advantage to me but maybe I'm looking at it wrong

I was talking about for the next season. A champion simply can't use the same 2 cars he used to win his previous title a second time.

Re: Season 8
here is a thought. your #plate is your qualifying spot for all 5 races. this will encourage everyone to make all 5 races. fast drivers with higher #plates starting in the rear, will make sure they make all the races to improve there # plate "qualifying position" to start next "season 9" in front

Good thoughts as always, but the number plate is a seasonal reward. And there is already a massive points incentive to race every race which is worth much more than a # plate.
