As many of you know there is the season entry qualification and then race qualifying for grid position.  

First, you must qualify @ Daytona to be a part of the season, then when the season starts on Jan 5th, you will qualify @ Daytona for grid position @ Daytona, which is the first race of the season.

To be clear, the field as you all know is limited to 24 drivers or 12 teams of 2 drivers.  There is a limit of 6 upper-class GS teams, and 6 lower class ST teams.  Those who are unable to qualify for the 6 teams in the GS class will be bumped down to the ST class.

Your team qualifying time is an average between you and your teammate.  We allow you to use any car for the season qualification.  You and your teammate can use a different car every attempt as well.  You can also bring in a specialist just for qualifying your team.

On race day, you and your teammate must use the same car to qualify for a grid position, and that will be the same car you both must use for the season.

We do it this way because there is less equality between cars, particularly at Daytona.  Meaning, there are a select few that work best at Daytona.  Those few cars that do well at Daytona may not be cars that you would want to use for the whole season because they tend to be faster lower handling cars.  Cars that are not good all-around cars in other words.

To help everyone identify which cars are the fastest to go with @ Daytona for season qualification we have compiled a list for both classes.  In this way you can at a glance be sure to know if you are in a proper Daytona car that has the ability to lay down a competitive lap time to get you and your teammate into the season.  

All cars have been shared with a Daytona tune with the file name "1900"
