Real vs Simulation
As you can see this is the latest issue from Motor Trend comparing some of the best cars in their class against each other at Laguna Seca. I thought it would be fun to compare their comparison to an FM6 comparison of the same cars at the same track.
Certain limitations apply in that we don't have the exact years for the 2016 Porsche, Corvette, and Viper, but we can come very close with what FM6 has to offer and make slight adjustments to bring them very close to the same hp/tq and weights.
The FM6 cars are the 2015 Corvette ZO6, 2013 Viper GTS, and a 2012 Porsche 911 GT3 RS. And to be fair all the cars were fitted with down force and handling parts with slicks and tire widths that were as close to the real cars as possible.
The real 911 actually has wider tires than FM6 carries. Anyway, I managed to get all the cars to within just a couple of pounds and horsepower of the real cars. In the real test (in case you don't have the magazine) It was the Viper that took the win at Laguna, with the Porsche 2nd and the Corvette a distant 3rd. Probably because the Corvette had no wings like the other two. But in my test all will be more equal.
Not surprisingly they complained bitterly about the lack of grip the Corvette had. The Porsche was the quickest 0-60 and 1/4mile, but the Viper turned the quickest lap times as it was a more balanced package that was easier to drive with its 8 liters of endless V10 torque.
I'll post the stats once I get done and you guys can give it a try.

Interesting results! Very close to the real cars too! Some minor differences but well within the range of the real thing. I ran 10 laps in each car at Laguna Seca.
Turns out the Corvette has rear downforce without a wing and was the closest build of the 3, and produced the closest time to the real car too. It was a close second to the Viper in terms of track manners and nothing like what "Motor Trend" complained about. They thought the ZO6 was a poor handling car that had little grip preferring the base model Stingray over it. Even so, they went second fastest with the ZO6.
The 911 was the least close in build and lap time. The "Motor Trend" 911 was a 2016 model that weighed 129lbs more than the FM6 2012 911, but had much wider tires than the FM6 car. It was as 911's tend to be a little quirky to drive but fun. The spring suspension was very soft too and no where near the stiffness of the real 911.
Just like in the real test the Viper wins this contest with its easy handling and gobs of torque. The car is very balanced. Though I had to use a gussied up 2013 SRT Viper it was pretty close to the newer ACR in build. The real ACR probably had a few more race parts to it which accounted for why I could not beat its lap time.
Overall, I have to say T10 has the performance levels really close to the real cars. Well done!
As for the real cars, chalk one up for the American's again! For half the price of a 911 RS, you can have an even better track car.
