IFCA IROC
I’m looking to put together a simple version of the original IROC series using similar cars to the real series. There will be 6 events of 2 races at each event on Tuesday nights at 8:00pm EST.
Each event will have an oval race at either Motegi Speedway or Sedona Speedway (30laps), and a road course (20 laps) not unlike the original series where ovals and road courses were mixed.
Everyone will be in the same exact car each week. Each car will be prepped without down force parts, but will have full racing equipment, tires, wheels, and only race exhaust and race air filter for power adders.
The idea here is just like the original series, to make the cars very equal and easy to drive but with the ability to tune them to the liking of the driver’s style so that it is the driver’s skill and not so much the car that makes the difference. Any assists will be allowed. Limited damage. 1 pit stop. Rolling start side by side. No restarts. No cautions.
The first car as it was with the original series will be the 1970 Camaro Z/28,
A-560 378hp/399tq 2858lbs
The first tracks, Infineon NASCAR/Motegi Speedway
Qualifying, 5 laps prior to race for both tracks.
Your finishing order for both tracks will be combined and divided by 2 each week. Highest combined finishing order over the 6 events will be the IFCA IROC Champion. Missing more than 1 event puts you out of the running for the Championship title. In other words, you have to compete in at least 5 full events to earn the title. If you miss a race you will receive last place position points for that race which factors into your total average for the season.
Livery rules: IFCA url, and IFCA #, GoodYear decals, solid colors for car body only, no designs or 2-tone colors.
Each new car and track will be announced at the end of each race night on Tuesday.
Qualifying will begin promptly at 8:00pm EST the night of the race.
Both races will be sent to www.ForzaLeagueRacers.com to be rated.
There will be a 16 car limit.
In the event of a tie at the end of the season, the driver with the highest FLR rating will be crowned the IFCA IROC Champion.

Re: IFCA IROC
This will be some very tight racing. Just did a practice session with Oneshot at the speedway and both of us were running 0:41.7s. A good qualifying will be important. Everyone will be able to run with the leaders and draft to the front I think. Without down force the car is very equalizing. Pure consistency will win the day.

Hmm, well, nothing is written in stone yet, maybe we switch to Tuesdays? Any objections anyone?

Re: IFCA IROC
Okay, let the people know we will shoot for Tuesdays instead. By the way, I replicated the AJ Foyt car you see above, and is the style of livery we should see. The IROC cars were all same liveries, but each car had a different color.

Re: IFCA IROC
I would've liked to hear about it before you posted it since I've been off writing an important essay, but you can go ahead with it, and I'll give it its own section.

Re: IFCA IROC
Thanks for the placement Abe. If anyone has the time tonight I'll be on for a practice race of half the distances as the real race on Tuesday. 10laps at Infineon NASCAR and 15 laps at Motegi Speedway. Probably around 7:00 CST/8:00 EST.

Re: IFCA IROC
Well I can see this is going to be very tough and close racing. I got the pole for the two races but finished 2nd and 1st giving me what would have been an average finishing position of 1.5, the same as Manuel.
Times are exceedingly close at the Speedway, and very close at Infineon. Just so everyone knows there will be 6 events with 6 different cars at 6 different tracks. Motegi Speedway will always be the second track at every event. The highest average finishing order will be crowned the IFCA IROC Champion at the end of the 6 events. Each new car and track will be announce on Tuesdays.

Not really concerned about a list. Only 16 are allowed in, and I don't think we will reach that number. Just show up on time, because I will be dropping the green flag exactly on time.

Have you considered Sedona Speedway as alternative? Its just like an Idea, 3 races on each oval one week Motegi, the other Sedona.

You know what, that's an excellent idea, we will do that! Every other race will be Sedona speedway.
