The next Turn
As some of the IFCA insiders already know, the 2013 season is already being hammered out. Many important changes will occur in 2013. Unlike in years past where the IFCA has held a firm hand on what is or isn't an Official series, 2013 will be the year of the Open IFCA.
In keeping with the IFCA tradition of creative innovation in organized simulation racing for Forza, for the first time ever YOU the average competitor will dictate what series will be created, what series will succeed, and what series will fail. We are opening up the IFCA doors to all members, clubs, and associated leagues to invent whatever formats they like, and earn Official Sanctioned status. The glue that will bind events to the IFCA is the IFCA Computer Ratings List. Any event or series that has at least 7 drivers in a race will automatically be a fully sanctioned and computer rated race. If you can't get at least 7 drivers to participate, your event will not be rated.
So rather than only having a few select series formats like we did in the past, the door is now wide open for whatever YOU the participants want to do. We suspect that there will be a wide range of series and many more one time only events, at more diverse start times than ever before in the history of the IFCA. Even leagues outside of the IFCA will be able to get their specific events rated.
The only "catch" is you have to have 7 drivers and you have to report the results on the IFCA site. Do these two things, and the IFCA Ratings Computer will quickly and accurately rate your drivers results the day they are reported. Those results will then be transferred to the IFCA Championship Ratings List to see how everyone stacks up against each other.
At the end of the 2013 season, the top 32 rated drivers will be invited to compete in the 2013 IFCA World Championship elimination rounds for all the cash and prizes. The top 3 rated drivers will be exempt from the first round of the Championship. The first round grid order of the 2013 IFCA World Championship will be based on your rating. The highest rated drivers will be in front of the lower rated drivers. The second round of 16 grid order will be determined by pre-race qualifying. The third round of 8 drivers grid order will be determined by finishing order from the previous race. And the final Championship round will be between the 4 remaining drivers.
The 2013 regular season will begin Thursday Nov 1st 2012. We will have a special section for organizers to post the rules and results of their events to be rated.
The IFCA Ratings Computer will be more finely tuned for 2013 too. There will be less of a drop in points should you finish last, lag out, or for some reason not complete the race.
The IFCA founders will be stepping out of the lime light and more into the background workings of site management and race coverage for 2013. Aside from the IFCA World Championship itself, there will be very few native events organized and managed by the IFCA leadership in 2013. Instead we will spend our time sampling the new series the members create so we can keep our own IFCA ratings up, promoting races, forging new relationships with other leagues, and general press coverage.
We appreciate all of your efforts to promote, participate, and maintain the original Forza oraganized racing league here at the IFCA. With your continued support we look forward to an exciting 2013 season where you the members, friends, and associates set the tone and create the fun. So get your creative thinking caps on and start planning your series events, we can't wait!
Thank you,
IFCA Founders
P.S. More updates and Q&A will be posted on this thread in the near future.

I like this! I have an event idea in the works, too....
We should use the month of October to discuss issues like stewards/officials and other things. I'm still looking forward to some type of Town Hall Meeting to discuss this as well.

In other words, we should be talking about these kinds of issues as a group. An XBL Party, for example.

Re: The next Turn
You may be missing part of the point here Abe. You will be free to conduct your series/event any way you see fit. You won't need to run anything by anyone. You won't need to talk or consult with the IFCA about what you want to do. Just let me know when you want a thread open for you to place your info, and then post your race results to be rated. It will be up to you to manage and promote it as you wish.
In effect, your series/event will be in competition with any others that people may want to create. Your series/event will either become popular, or it will not meet the required threshold to be officially rated, and be unpopular. It's all up to you, and the effort you put into it.

Re: The next Turn
I want to organise the Lamborghini Gallardo SuperTrofeo series. I wanted to do this back in forza2, but it never got off the ground. The series was developed in 2008 and ran it's first season in '09. Six races in six different countries, it celebrates its 4th year of competition this year. Featuring a race-prepped Lamborghini Gallardo, competitors are challenged in a weekend of 3 racing events where the points are averaged out at the end of each. My goal for this series is to decide on which gallardo to use, build it to "real-world" spec, complete the different liveries for the series that competitors will use, and develope a fair platform from which points will be earned. It will be labor intensive, but even if it falls on its face, it would be something I completed as contribution to IFCA competition.

Re: The next Turn
I appreciate the support Don! Also, I appreciate the compliment Dale. However, I have seen some very good Blancpain SuperTrofeo liveries. Since I did the livery back in Forza2, I have the added challenge of attempting to duplicate my own work. At the time, only dale and I knew about it because I liveried car #s 1 and 3 and gifted dale the #3 for obvious reasons. But anyway, here's 2 pics of my work from forza2. Sometime soon, I need to get together with Don and Dale, because I need an opinion on something, and it needs to be discussed on live. I'll try to catch up with you guys.

Re: The next Turn
Bone stock was fun and i wish it was still going.I'd like to keep this going but with race cars. They don't have to be a "r_" race car but it does have to be a track car.League members take turns picking the car and tracks. The car will be used for 2 weeks of the 4 week tournament.I was also thinking of tuning the car in its second week(night)

Re: The next Turn
sounds like a cool idea, maybe you could lobby for a bonestock event to take place. Im planning my own event right now which will hopefully and ideally be on a monday night as it is my day off from school. But with the way my internship and study and students organizations and all that fun college stuff goes... nothing is 100% at this point. just going to wait and see how it pans out.
maybe you could write up a plan and the league can vote on it?

Re: The next Turn
also keep in mind nov 1 is a ways away.. you got 2 months basically to come up with a plan, or help one of the other event planners organize something big.

Re: The next Turn
There will be an additional points system for participation in 2013. This will be seperate from your driver ratings points. In order to make it into the 2013 IFCA Championship at the end of the year, you will need to have two things, 1. a high enough driver rating, and 2. you'll need enough Grand Prix Points.
For every rated race you compete in, each driver will earn 100 Grand Prix Points. Over the course of the year, there will be an undetermined # of total GP Points. Drivers will have to have at least 51% of the total GP points to qualify for the the 2013 IFCA Championship.
This is being done so that no driver can (at the last minute) come into the Championship just because of a high rating. Everyone will have to participate in at least half of all the rated races in or outside the IFCA.
Keep in mind we will be rating selected races from other leagues in 2013. Any race results posted on the IFCA will be rated by the IFCA Computer.
