IFCA World Rankings - Q & A Empty Re: IFCA World Rankings - Q & A

Post by Guest Fri Mar 28, 2008 2:23 pm
What rules are in place for racing in a challenge? standard IFCA rules of the road??

I don't think the list holds any water with Ch0mper being placed in the top 22.
I really don't think ANY respectable driver feels ch0mper is a top 25 driver in Forza.

How would we challenge someome who's not a part of the IFCA or has been banned from IFCA events??
Also, the format allows someone to be good in 1 car in the game. If I want to pick the FXX for every challenge because its the only car I can drive, I'm going to do good, that doesnt exactly mean I am good. It just means I have 1 car in the game that I can drive.

IFCA World Rankings - Q & A Empty Re: IFCA World Rankings - Q & A

Yes, standard rules i.e., opposite of CGS rules lol.

You may challenge anyone 15 ranks above you on this list.

This is not an IFCA event exactly, it is more a hyper-IFCA associated event, which is to say, though we host the information here, provide officiating, and rules to race by, this special list is not completely married to the IFCA in the same way the sanctioned series are. Rather, it encompasses the IFCA more or less, but is not part of the IFCA Championship, or any of its series. The IFCA is a part of the list's tabulation more than anything.

Yes, the format does bias itself against the challenger when it comes to car selection, and this is on purpose as noted above. But bear in mind, you do not have to challenge the one guy that will use the only car he is good in. You might challenge the guy right below him who will no doubt use a different car of his liking maybe a car YOU prefer, so, there are many ways around that one guy who always drives his pet car against you. Win a match, and skip right over the guy who uses the car you hate. lol

Post by Guest Fri Mar 28, 2008 5:27 pm

Well my 1st challenge would have to be ch0mper, but im not interested in giving him 3 seconds of my time. He, no doubt in my mind, will decline or race the TVR, then procede to wreck me because its the only car he can drive and the only way he can race. If it's based on hotlapping (ch0mpr does not), IFCA events (chompr does not), CGS standings (he's high ranked), time trials (ch0mp does not) and top 5 times (ch0mpr does not), how is he in the top 25 drivers recognised here?

Sounds like a nasty rival to me, maybe you should bypass him, and go for, TRC Scooty, or TRC Smokinu?

Or challenge Chompr anyway, if he declines all challenges he will be knocked down the list for sure.

Uh no, lol, the only changes that will be applied between now and the next full update in June, are challenge match results.

What are the rules about challenging someone that has made a challenge already? I was going to challenge R2P CruzCntrol.

Ok, so what if you aren't "ranked" and want to challenge someone?...how does that work with the challenge rules current setup?

Yes, a non-listed driver may challenge any of the bottom 20 listed drivers. Again, they do not have to accept your challenge. If they do accept it, they get the choice of track, car, and time. Non-listed drivers get no choices in other words.

Declining a non-listed driver's challenge does not go against a ranked drivers record. However, accepting such challenges will slightly affect in a positive way a ranked drivers quarterly points total.

Did you guys try and contact all of the people in the Official list in some way ? Some of those guys don't even play Forza anymore, and some of them barely played in the first place. Also...I can't see how what happens at the CGS should affect any sort of 'official ranking'...but that's just me...

Post by IFCA GTDon Wed Apr 02, 2008 9:11 am

Hello serial, yes, attempts were made to find out who was active and who was not. But as the explanatary notes say,

Is the list perfect?

In a word, no. The list will always be in a stage of acquiring perfection, but it is an accurate snap shot that can be relied upon to see (for the first time ever in the history of the game), who really is the overall #1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and so on down to 80th.

We know the list will be much tighter when we publish the next fully updated list in June.

CGS was debated as to its relevence, but it seems there were some who felt that since several high end drivers have no measurable accomplishments in the other catagories, but are recognized in the CGS, that it had to be included.

Thanks for the questions,
TDR GTDon

I think, since the CGS is mainly based on publicity, politics, and marketability, Its results hold no relevance towards the true skill of a player. People who have competed in the CGS and have no other notable achievements in forza just should not be on the list......

.......If i'm wrong, Why didnt Technoboy make the list? He got drafted as a CGS backup player and his greatest achievement is being lapped in a 2 lapper @ Suzuka west!!!!! THAT TAKES SERIOUS SKILL!!!!

A person's performance @ an event which promotes wall riding and "take-outs" should not be rewarded with recognition of "one of the world fastest".

Yes, I didn't want the CGS a part of the measuring either, mainly because I don't respect that kind of racing. IT's a mockery of true competition, skill, and the game itself. I'm hoping using the CGS gets replaced with a different data point.

Here's a question...do we have to wait until a proposed challenge is accepted and/or completed prior to issuing another challenge or can we have more than one challenge going at a time?

This is a question that has come up, and the thinking is to limit the # of challenges per week to 2. That is, you should have no more than 2 pending challenges at any one time.

I will add this to the rules on challenges.

"- You may only challenge another driver who is not more than 15 places above you. This in effect means that the list is broken down into roughly 5 fifteen man sections.
- Only in the lowest section can #80 challenge #61, which is actually 20 ranks higher. The drivers in the other 4 higher sections may only go 15 ranks above their own for a challenge (This rule prevents frivolous challenges by the lower ranked, and forces everyone to have to work to get into a position to challenge #1, someday)"

So who can I challange and who can I not challange? confused
