IFCA Trans-Am Relay Challenge Season 7 Dec 21st
It is with great pleasure that we bring you yet another new season of IFCA Trans-Am Relay Challenge Racing! Welcome to Season 7 where you will enjoy the best that the 2000-2010 model years had to offer in Trans-Am racing! We call this selection of cars our 2k group. Of the 4 groups of Trans-Am cars we offer, the 2k cars have yet to be competed with. Except for the absence of Forza downforce parts the 2k cars are fully tunable and are second in performance to our Modern Trans-Am line-up of cars.
This season we are adding the much asked for feature of a support race on the Monday before the actual race on Saturday. It's a way for many people who can't race on Saturdays to run these fun cars and not have to commit to an entire series.
There will be no seasonal or series points at stake. Each race will be a one-off race for that week with a length of about 45min.
Each race will, however, be rated. Though there will be no drivers points there will be car points.
Our purpose for having a support race is to refine the balance of performance of each car for our main event the Trans-Am Relay Challenge on Saturdays. So, we are more interested in how the cars perform than how the drivers do. To this aim, drivers will not be allowed to drive the same car twice per 7 race season. Drivers will comply with driving their designated build based on IFCA rating. Slower drivers rated under 1950.000 will drive the faster Factory build, faster drivers rated over 1950.000 will drive the slower Privateer build. In so doing, drivers will get a chance to sample most of the cars and see what kind of performance they have before making the leap into the big show on Saturdays with a teammate. This will also allow new drivers to understand the format and find out if they like the cars before committing to our main event as well.
The Monday night support race will mirror our regular-season series on Saturdays. They will be at the same track utilizing the same cars and have the same basic format, standing start, 4 lap qualy, with 2 discretionary pitstops and 1 mandatory pit and no microphones in a 45min race. There will be no bonus points for fastest lap, pole, etc unless you happen to be in the same car for the main event on that Saturday.
The Monday night grid limit will be 24 drivers first come first serve.
Race begins at 9pm EST.
The first race will be Monday, Dec 16th @ Road America followed by Saturday's Dec 21st main event opener to Season 7 of the IFCA Trans-Am Relay Challenge at 7pm EST.
The cars will be the 2k Trans-Am Season 7 cars.
