Season 17 FINALE @ VIR!

  

I'm struggling on this track. I've realized neither of the cars I've used is very good on this track, even when I tried in Bronze. Hopefully, even fewer people show up for the finale, so I finish in the top 10!

The bigger the track the larger the gap in times.  Time hides easier on a big track.

Watchout, Mr Sandbagger is gonna win this one, as soon as I find half a second!

I think I understand what you mean. If I'm x% slower than you guys, it's a more significant gap on a bigger track.

The tracks I avoided for years were Bathurst and VIR. This league racing Bathurst in the Saleen forced me to learn it a bit more. I think it was a massive improvement from my initial lap times to my race times. I can do the same at VIR if I put in the time. I'm flying back to Germany on Wednesday, so I'll miss practice, but I will try to get in as many hours of practice as possible.

I have raced the Patriot and South course a decent amount in lobbies or rivals. The North course is quite a bit less. The three biggest layouts, hardly at all. So it's a matter of putting in some time.

I'll play with the tunes to see if I can get better performance and select the right car. Right now I'm getting similar lap times in both the 95 Vette and the 02 Camaro.

Well, that was a pretty spectacular race with all the off track behavior we had!  VIR is a dangerous track with all of its high speed off camber corners. With 3 lead changes as a result, in the end it would be pole sitter (1:52.215) WhiskeySix1 in his Gold level 05 BMW M3 recapturing the lead and the win while setting the track lap record with a 1:52.723.  

Not far behind was the Season 17 points leader RIOT ChevyPower collecting 2nd place with a 1:52.205 in his Platinum 69 Mustang.  And not too far behind ChevyPower was GTDon in his Gold 97 Mazda RX-7 with a 1:52.098 in 3rd.

Congrats to the winner who muscled his way past ZAR Eries on the season to secure 2nd place in the Championship, and to returning IFCA Masters Champion RIOT ChevyPower!  3rd on the season was defending champion ZAR Eries.

Winning the Masters Championship is one thing, keeping it seems to be another.  Congrats to our new Champion RIOT ChevyPower!

As for penalties, there was some confusion at the start with Nova and Gui being slightly out of position, but because it did not seem to effect anything, they will only receive a unofficial warning to clean it up next time.  

OneShot over cooked turn 1 at the start, driving into the grass and popping out to hit Sox, who then collected Nova who lost 4 positions.  OneShot earns a warning/strike and Nova is compensated +1pt.

So that's it for Season 17, it's on like "Donkey Kong" to next season, Season 18!  No break week, we head straight into Season 18 for round 1 @ Laguna Seca next Saturday!  Be sure to conform to the team livery requirements if you are on a team or you will be penalized.

Whether you are a team driver or a single, your driver race #s must be either your official IFCA # that you earned in Season 17, or, any # over the #17.

Team livery requirements: 
1.)You must visibly display the IFCA URL on all 4 sides of the lower part of your car i.e., ifca.forumotion,com or [url=https://www.ifca.forumotion.com. /]www.ifca.forumotion.com. [/url]
2.)You must visibly display your official race # on all 4 sides of the car or any # above #17.  
3.)Team cars are required to visibly display 1 major sponsor of their choice.
4.)Team cars must have matching livery graphics. Different color schemes are permitted.  
5.)Team cars are required to use a black hood/bonnet. (non-Team cars are not permitted to use black hoods/bonnets.)
6.)Team names must be visibly displayed on both sides of car.
7.)No obscene graphics or languages are permitted.
8.)No cars are permitted to use tinted windows.
