IFCA 2017 End Game, “Subway FWC Invitational!”
As most of you know the IFCA no longer conducts regular league series events, but, we did say we would probably have 1 event for the year that is tied to the computer world rankings. It would seem a shame to have categorically and numerically rated and ranked so many of the world’s fastest Forza drivers and then not offer a competition to see these drivers compete.
We can’t force drivers to compete, but we can entice drivers to compete. We also want to give the underdogs a chance too. You never know when a driver breaks through his plateau and rises to the next level. We’ve seen many B-Class drivers on the world rankings list jump up to Master, International Master, and even Grand Master during the course of a season. With this in mind, we plan to create the first ever Subway FWC Invitational World Championship toward the end of the year based on the number of rated races each driver has to his credit. The minimum number of races you must have to receive an invite to qualify into the Subway FWC (Forza World Championship 2017) is 20 races.
Anyone with at least 20 rated races by the end of the year (July 15th) will be invited to qualify regardless of their rating/ranking. This means that there will be drivers from all the classes on the IFCA computer world rankings list who will get a chance to compete for a grid spot.
The Format will be a simple single race of 50laps and a maximum grid of 23 cars, rolling start, any assists.
*The car(s) and track(s) have not yet been selected.
There will be 4 sports cars of relative equality to pick from in S-class with no Forza aero parts. 2 cars will be the best from America, and 2 cars will be the best from Europe. Because we cannot police builds entirely we will limit the cars to their stock P.I. and no Forza aero parts. Build the car however you like as long as it retains its stock P.I. and has no Forza aero parts. This means that you will be able to tune the cars but little else. It’s up to you as to which of the 4 cars gives you the best performance. We make no claims the cars are 100% equal, only that in the right hands each car can win. So not only is this a driver contest, it also will reveal which manufacturer and country has produced a truly superior world beating sports car. Car and track announcement will be on Saturday April 1st.
Qualifying will be done 1 week prior to the race. It will be conducted on a related smaller track to that of the main race. You will get one chance and 10laps to qualify. You must race the same car you qualified in.
Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and highest finisher with the lowest rating will be from our main sponsor Subway.
The date of the 2017 Subway FWC Invitational is Sunday July 30th at 1:00pm PST, 3:00pm CST, 4:00pm EST.
Qualifying will be open from Saturday July 22nd , and closed Saturday July 29th midnight CST. A list of designated Race Officials will be made available soon.
The cut off to get your required 20 rated races for eligibility is Saturday July 15th. Invitations will be sent out starting July 15th.
Livery requirements will be 2 Subway sponsor decals visible on both sides of the car and your qualifying number on your number plate on all 4 sides of the car. If you qualify #1 that will be your car number, if you qualify #23, that will be your number. (There will be no official number plate)
To seek out a rated series and gain the required number of rated races go here there are a half dozen or so different rated events at any one time from different leagues like TORA, VTCC, FMC, SimRacers, Global Sim Racers, Latino Racing Sim, etc.
