Quick update on Project Cars.

Loving the lens flare effect too, that was just recently optimised.

I learned my lesson a long time ago not to let eye candy overshadow how something actually performs. With Slightly Mad Studios being involved in this, I can't feel too confident. The video of Tommy Milner taking his Corvette on a hotlap of Laguna Seca drew me in to SHIFT...the sounds in the replay and how the car "appeared" to drive, lured me in. What a disappointment. It had NO feeling of realism.

Like I've always said, don't think of this as another Shift game. What made Shift 1 and 2 bad was EA not SMS. EA wanted an Arcade racing game and as such wanted slightly mad studios to dumb down the physics engine, this is what ruined Shift 1 as for Shift 2 they were basically told to use the same driving physics as the previous game and they only gave them 6 months to develope it.

What makes me laugh though is Shift 1 sold 9 million copies and Shift 2 sold about 6 million. I'm one of the few people that enjoyed both games and still jump on Shift 2 from time to time.

I respect your opinion, Nelly. I also understand that everyone's racing experience is fulfilled through other avenues outside of the Forza series. Race Pro, in my opinion, was a VERY excellent representation of physics and car tuning options. Unfortunately, it didn't catch on with this community. I really liked that game. I will check out your videos. I'm certainly interested. I think Project Cars is releasing this year.

Your not alone m8 Race Pro is a wicked game, and if you liked that I'm pretty sure your gonna love Project Cars, A handful of the Simbin guys started up Sightly Mad Studios.

I would say my videos don't do the game too much justice, but when I get my new pc later this week I'm going to be rocking max settings so they will look much better.

At the moment Project cars is due to be released in November.

Hope its more on the SIM. side.Shift 2 was fun and Race Pro was SIM. fun. I picked up Test drive Ferrari legends and i wanted to hot lap some of the cars but you have to unlock them to use them.....and i don't have the time/talent to do this...crazy a game can be put out that you by and can't access.

With Project Cars it's a bit more pick up and play compared to games like netka pro and race 07 etc. There is one similarity between Project Cars and Test Drive Ferrari, they both have novice, pro and expert handling models.

I use Expert because I'm a sim racer first and foremost, but if you want the game to feel a bit more like Forza then you go for Pro. Novice is reserved for people that play Mario Kart
