General Information

Welcome to the IFCA Trans AM series, where you will be going back in time to the roots of American road racing and the glory days of thundering American muscle cars burning rubber all the way to the finish line! This series intends to replicate SCCA Trans Am series back in its hay day when there were 2 classes on track. The over 2liter and under 2liter classes were ran at the same time together, but were not competing against each other.

It was a furious and highly competitive time for manufacturers especially in the over 2liter class with Ford, Chrylser, and Chevrolet all represented. Like in drag racing at the time, the motto for the industry was, "Race on Sunday, sell on Monday!" These were largely production based stock cars limited to 302cid V8 small blocks, and close to 500hp. The cars themselves were allowed to be as light as possible using stock parts. They ran on high performance treaded sport tires rather than slicks which made them more than a handful to drive.

The cars that you'll be driving will be as close to the real cars as we can make them, while still keeping them equal in performance. These will be full on race prepped builds (without slicks). The emphasis will lean towards better handling rather than more horsepower, giving you, the driver, the best seat of the pants impression for what it was like to wrestle one of these beasts around a race track. If these kind of cars are too much for you, and you'd prefer to race something smaller and more nimble, we will also include the under 2liter class cars for you to sample as well. But make no mistake, the small cars were corner carving demons, and would often get in the way of the bigger cars on smaller tracks.

So, come take a ride back into the the past, to a time before political correctness, a time when men were as bad a s s as the cars, and the "Big Three" hated each others guts! The racing will be held on Sundays at 11:00am CST/12:00am EST.

Rules/Regulations

- There will be a rolling start on the first lap of the race. The pole sitter for each event will serve as the pace car.

- We will follow the standard IFCA rules and regulations.

- Please read the IFCA Code of Conduct as well

- Each car must make 1 mandatory pit stop after the first flying lap and before the last lap.

- At the end of the pace lap please do not take off until the pole sitter signals the start of the race. Please do not jump the gun. Drivers must wait until the lead car says "3-2-1 Go!" or something to that effect. When the green flag drops, drivers must retain thier starting positions until reaching the start finish line.

- Restarts will only occur if there is a incident involving 2 or more cars on the first lap. There will be a maximum of 3 restarts per race. After the 3rd restart everyone will be on their own, if any additional problems happen on the pace lap they will be reviewed by IFCA Staff.

- If you crash on your own or get out of line and lose a position there will be no restarts. Use common sense.

- Please no tire scrubbing/tire warming techniques they are unnecessary

Car Tunes/Builds

- Car Builds can be found on AAR GTDon's storefront (builds are subject to change); If you would like a tunable file please let AAR GTDon, or AAR Darkestdale know ahead of time so we can gift an open tune to you.

- Car builds may not be altered

- Car tuning is allowed

Entries

- Drivers can enter as Privateers or can compete as a Factory Driver. A privateer can have any livery other than a replica, but a factory driver will have a replica factory race paint and a 2 P.I. point advantage. *To be a Factory driver, you have to have at least 1000 GP points to your credit.

- If you cannot get into the lobby before the start of the race you will be left behind. If there is a significant amount of people who cannot get into the lobby a decision will be made whether or not we continue or try again next week.

- If you cannot get into the lobby it is your responsibility to let us know that you are having an issue.

- We ask that everyone checks their networks and connections prior to joining the lobby to ensure that everyone has a fair chance to get in.

- If you lag out of a lobby that is already in session you will lose all driver/team points earned for the session.

- Please be on time.

Liveries

- There are no mandatory liveries for privateers, but they may not use factory replica liveries. Only factory drivers must use factory replica liveries.

*If any livery rules are disobeyed you will be asked to leave the lobby and change your livery. You will not be docked your starting position or points, unless it is determined you ran an illegal paint after the race.

Season Scoring

- Driver Points will be determined by overall driver position at the end of the race using the Standard IFCA point scale.

- There will be a single bonus point for fatest lap of the race.

- A Privateer who finishes on the podium will gain a single bonus point.

- Manufacturer points are added up by podium count, 3 for 1st, 2 for 2nd, and 1 for 1st.

Qualifying Procedure

-Prior to the opening round of each season we will have a blind qualifying period of 3 laps.

- On the day of the following races after the first round we will do a 3 lap qualifying session. The lobby will be set to collisions always off, compared best lap times, limited damage, and there will be a 5 second delay between each car on the track. After the race the lobby will be set to "Lobby Points" and this will give everyone the correct starting order.

- Non-qualifying racers will be lined up in order according to IFCA Rating and GP points.

- You will have to stay in the same car and livery for the 4 race season. Switching from Privateer to Factory driver is done between seasons.

- The eventual champions of both classes may not use the same car to defend their title in following seasons.

- Disputes will be settled by IFCA Officials. If you feel you have been slighted, taken advantage of, chased off the road or some other issue arises… Please do not argue about it during the race.

- Wait until afterwards and request an IFCA Official to handle the situation, or post the replay in your storefront so one of Officials can get ahold of the footage.

- If you pull over rather than finish your race or quit out of the lobby you will forfeit all driver cup and team points that you have earned for that race. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE LOBBY UNLESS IT IS IMPORTANT.

- If a problem does arise, please post a video inthe Incident and Protest Thread. Please keep videos brief. Accompany the video with a statement of what the problem is, and when it occurred.

Series Champion Payout

- The lucky drivers who win the Driver's Championship in both classes (highest driver points after 4 races) will win 10,000,000 Credits.

Cheating

The IFCA is a place for honest racers, and is a place where cheating is not tolerated. If you are caught cheating, you will be banned from the series. If you are caught cheating a second time, you will be banned from the IFCA for life.

We have a zero tolerance policy on cheating. If you are discovered to have the wrong build you will be banned even if it was just an accident. If your telemetry shows you have the incorrect horsepower or torque, you will be banned. Word to the wise? Double check, and triple check, that you are running the correct builds.

Yeah, this time it will be much more like the real deal, but, it will take some time to build the cars. We should be able to launch sometime in mid Jan.

Looks great Don

I will try and make some of the races. I make the time they start to be 5pm GMT which suits me but perhaps not the family. I would have another event starting a couple of hours later also but I do want to make a few if thats ok? I just darn't garantee my entry Smile

Yeah, that's fine. Our in-house series are short seasons for this reason. It's more about having a good race when we can, than winning a season.
